Subscription, Billing and Refunds
Last updated 22 September 2026
Status: SpendPilot is currently free. There are no paid plans and no charges. This page is published in advance so you can see the terms before anything changes. We will not charge anyone without telling them first and obtaining their agreement to the price.
Items marked [TO BE CONFIRMED] will be completed before paid plans launch.
These terms form part of the Terms of Service.
1. Plans
| Plan | Price | Billing period | What it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | £0 | Not applicable | Full access to all current SpendPilot features |
No paid plans have been decided yet. This page will be updated with plan names, prices and what each includes before any paid plan launches.
Prices include VAT where applicable. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, with no fees added afterwards. If you are outside the United Kingdom the app store may show the price in your local currency and apply local tax.
2. How you pay
Payments are taken through the app store you downloaded SpendPilot from.
| Store | Merchant of record |
|---|---|
| Apple App Store | Apple Distribution International Ltd |
| Google Play | Google Commerce Ltd, or the local Google entity |
This means Apple or Google takes the payment, holds your card details, issues your receipt and handles refunds. We never see or store your payment card details.
If we ever offer payment directly on spendpilot.co.uk, we will update this page and name the payment provider before doing so.
3. Free trials
[TO BE CONFIRMED: WHETHER A TRIAL IS OFFERED, ITS LENGTH, AND WHETHER IT CONVERTS AUTOMATICALLY]
If a trial converts to a paid subscription automatically, we will tell you the price and the date of the first charge before the trial starts, and we will remind you before the trial ends.
4. Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The renewal price is the price shown when you subscribed, unless we have told you about a change in advance under section 7.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time.
- Apple: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device.
- Google: Google Play > Profile > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access to paid features until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
6. Your right to cancel and refunds
6.1 The 14-day cooling-off period
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union you normally have the right to cancel a contract for digital content within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund. Because SpendPilot's paid features start straight away, we will ask for your express agreement to immediate access and your acknowledgement that you lose the right to cancel once the paid features are supplied. If you do not give that agreement, you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund.
6.2 Refunds through the app stores
Because Apple and Google take the payment, refund requests go to them.
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google: play.google.com/store/account
Their decisions follow their own policies. If they refuse a refund that you believe you are entitled to under UK or EU consumer law, contact us at [email protected] and we will help.
6.3 Our own position
Beyond your legal rights, [TO BE CONFIRMED: ANY ADDITIONAL GOODWILL REFUND POLICY].
7. Price changes
If we change the price of your plan we will tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before the new price takes effect, and it will apply only from your next renewal after that date. If you do not agree, cancel before the renewal and you will not be charged the new price.
8. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, the app store will retry it. If it continues to fail, your subscription will lapse and you will return to the free plan. Your data is not deleted when a subscription lapses.
9. Changes to paid features
We may improve, change or retire paid features. If a change materially reduces what you paid for during a period you have already paid for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of that period pro rata.
10. Upcoming change in UK law
The UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 introduces a new regime for subscription contracts, expected to come into force in Spring 2027. It will add requirements around pre-contract information, reminder notices before renewal, cooling-off periods and exit routes. We will update this page before that regime applies. Where our practice already goes further than the law requires, we will keep it.
11. Model cancellation form
You may use this form to cancel, but you do not have to. Any clear statement will do.
