Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out what you may and may not do when using SpendPilot. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaching it may lead to your account being suspended or closed.

1. Use SpendPilot for what it is for

SpendPilot is for planning and budgeting your own household's grocery shopping. You may use it for that, and for nothing that harms us, other users, supermarkets or anyone else.

2. You must not

Break the law or harm others

• use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive;
• upload or enter content that is defamatory, abusive, obscene, discriminatory or that infringes anyone's rights;
• impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with one.

Interfere with the Service

• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems;
• introduce malware or any harmful code;
• probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service other than as permitted by our Responsible Disclosure Policy;
• overload or disrupt the Service, for example through excessive automated requests;
• circumvent any security, rate limit or access control.

Extract or misuse data

• scrape, crawl, harvest or copy prices, recipes, product matches or any other data from the Service by automated means;
• use the Service, or data obtained from it, to build a competing product or a commercial dataset;
• resell, sublicense or share your access with others.

Misuse supermarket links

• use SpendPilot's links to a supermarket in a way that breaches the supermarket's own terms;
• attempt to use the Service to place automated or bulk orders with any supermarket.

Misuse accounts

• create more than one account for yourself, or an account for someone else without their permission;
• create an account if you are under 18;
• share your login details.

Reverse engineer

• decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app, except where the law expressly allows.

3. Reporting misuse

If you become aware of a breach of this policy, email [email protected]. For security vulnerabilities, follow the Responsible Disclosure Policy.

4. What we may do

If we reasonably believe you have breached this policy we may warn you, remove content, suspend features, suspend or close your account, and where appropriate report the matter to law enforcement. The process we follow is described in section 14 of the Terms of Service.
